The Black Star Project hosted a Daddy-Daughter Dance on February 22nd at The Quarry, 2423 E. 75th Street, Chicago, IL.
The program featured a red-carpet photo opportunity and included libations and dinner.
Each daughter received a large red gift box filled with a teddy bear, treats, and other essential items. Throughout the ceremony, the children and their fathers enjoyed dancing, thanks to the incredible song selection by the DJ.
In her closing remarks, Black Star Project Executive Director Gloria Jackson-Smith shared that her late brother, the organization’s founder, was a spiritual father to over 200,000 children and would have been proud of the event.
