Pre-Valentine’s Day at Gospel Temple Church Chicago

On Saturday, February 8th, Gospel Temple MB Church at 1056 West 103rd Street in Chicago proudly hosted its annual Pre-Valentine’s Day Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall, conveniently located adjacent to the sanctuary.

The visitors who attended could either dine in or take out their meals. The menu entrees included smothered chicken, salmon patties, and sausage. Although for sides, patrons received rice, eggs, grits, a biscuit, and juice.

Pastor Dr. Claudia J. Watkins did an excellent job hosting the event, igniting excitement among attendees as they awaited the next raffle winner. Linda, the first prize raffle winner, joyfully received a 50-inch Vizio Smart TV, while other lucky participants walked away with cash prizes. In a heartfelt gesture, every attendee was gifted a Valentine’s bag, embodying the spirit of appreciation and community.

“We give thanks to God today. From the deacons to the trustees, organizing the Gospel Temple Pre-Valentine’s Day Breakfast was a Herculean task for us. We were concerned that the weather might hinder our efforts, but God intervened and blessed us. I invite you to join us at Gospel Temple Church, where the spirit of the Lord is present,” Pastor Claudia said.

They have celebrated their pre-Valentine’s event for 55 years at Gospel Temple Church, where Pastor Claudia has been leading for 22 years.

“We moved to this location in 1970 and have never missed a date. This year has started spectacularly because we sold out! Over 125 dinners were purchased during this event. Our next event will be the traditional Father’s Day barbecue. Stay tuned for additional information.”

The event concluded with a prayer from Deacon Charles Cork and a group photo taken by the staff of 3:16 Magazine.
