Rev. Suprenna Ward is the lead pastor and founder of the City of Refuge Kingdom Ministry Outreach – located in Milwaukee, WI. Pastor Ward’s dedication and commitment to serving others through her ministry have made a significant impact. She has touched the lives of many and brought hope and healing to those in need.
Pastor Ward, is a Chicago native and proud mother of four wonderful children. Meanwhile, during marriage, her spouse and family brought her immeasurable joy, and through their support, she has become a grandmother to seven delightful grandchildren. This incredible woman of God story is a testament to the power of love, family, and community.
“I am a native of Chicago and grew up in the DARE Home projects, which have since been torn down and replaced with a park. It’s been a long journey, and that has made me grateful for all the opportunities.”
In 1989, Pastor Ward underwent a life-altering experience that changed the course of her journey. She gave her life to Christ and has been guided by faith ever since.
Despite Pastor Ward’s challenges, her father became a believer and brought their entire family to church. Therefore, at 19, she had not yet found salvation. It wasn’t until Pastor Ward was 22 and had already started a family with her future husband.
In Response, Pastor Ward shared the good WORD and built an incredible ministry called the City of Refuge Kingdom Ministry Outreach.
In 2010, the City of Refuge was born out of her residence. Pastor Ward opened up the doors, but no one showed up except for her children.
Pastor Ward expressed her frustration as she had expected more people to attend when she opened up her ministry at her residence in 2010. She had received many promises and words of appreciation, but they were broken. She had hoped for a better turnout considering she was a powerful prophet.
“It was my mission to spread the teachings of Christ and help those in need. As the Founder of City of Refuse, I also founded “The Men & Women of Excellence Kingdom Ministries,” Pastor Ward said.
She reflects on the year 2011 when she and her best friend founded a new ministry. Despite the challenges they faced, it turned out to be one of the best decisions she ever made.
“It was a difficult time when she passed away to be with the Lord. I was serving as an assistant pastor at the time, and I felt a calling from the Lord telling me that it was my time. I decided to open up my church, but I quickly closed it back down because I didn’t feel led to do it as a woman. But the Lord sat on my shoulder. By following the Lord’s guidance it has brought me so much fulfillment and joy.”
Pastor Ward expressed that the broken come from all walks of life with many circumstances. However, her dedication to God is extraordinary with the understanding and teaching of an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.
Her demonstration and commitment to Salvation have shown her God-given skills, gifts, and talents as God uses her obedience to manifest healing and deliverance of the soul.
“My mother transitioned earlier this year to be with the Lord. I’m still a lot hurt about it. There are days when I cry. I made myself available when my mom proceeded to the hospital, I followed and stayed the night. Since she passed, I have taken a look at my life and understand that I matter too! My mom told me a year ago that “you need to take a sabbatical to rest. Remember, you need God too!”
Furthermore, you can connect with Pastor Ward on Facebook Live, Instagram, and TikTok, and soon she will be on Amazon. Life can be hectic, but it is awe-inspiring to witness how technology can unite us.
“I have a book coming out soon that shares my journey. Although life has taught me to perceive things differently, I am grateful for 3:16 Magazine for sharing my story.”
