Apostle St. John Chisum, the senior pastor at Gifts From God Ministry Church located at 1818 W. 74th Street, Chicago, celebrated his 32nd Anniversary on Sunday, February 5th.
The Order of Service was led by his wife, Pastor Gay Chisum, who read SCRIPTURE-II CORINTHIANS 5:17. During the service, Pastor Chisum shared the significance of Black History Month and the members of GFGMC sang Lift Every Voice And Sing.
Apostle Chisum talked about the formation of their church 32 years ago in January, one of the coldest months of the year. He expressed his constant commitment to lifting the Lord and becoming more spiritual every day.
He also mentioned the catchphrase “Spiritually More in 2024,” which was given to him by his wife.
“I originally was going to use “Doing More in 2024.” My wife said no way you already do enough, Apostle Chisum said.”
During the event, the guest speaker was Rev. T.L. Barrett, Jr., who is a pastor, musician, and motivational speaker. Sax Preacher performed popular songs and entertained the audience with his music.
Apostle Chisum said, “I am a son of Rev. Barrett and blessed by his input into my life through our ministry.”
Sax Preacher, who has been in ministry for over three decades and is also the chairman of the United Black America Progress Association, an organization founded by Dr. Webb Evans, will be celebrating 62 years in October.
“I am a son of Apostle Chisum. I have been in ministry for 30-plus years. I am also the president of UBAPA.”
In conclusion, Apostle Chisum thanked everyone for attending the service.
