SWAT Relaunches with “Shutting Some Doors” Event at House of Hope Ministries
Overseer Annissa Rhone Reignites Ministry for Spiritual Women
On Saturday, October 11th, a powerful gathering took place at House of Hope Ministries as SWAT (Spiritual Women at the Throne) relaunched under the leadership of Overseer Annissa Pennington.
The event, titled “Shutting Some Doors,” was held at the church located at 1816-18 E. 79th Street in Chicago, Illinois, under the spiritual covering of Chief Apostle Dr. Kathleen Miles.
Elder Bobbie Brown and Elder Genann Mitchell delivered the transformative messages “Shutting Some Doors,” setting the tone for the organization’s renewed mission and vision.
A Legacy Continued
The relaunch represents a significant moment in SWAT’s history. Pastor Rhone shared that the organization was originally birthed at Cedar Grove MB Church, where she received a spiritual torch that she continues to carry today.
“SWAT was originally birthed at Cedar Grove MD Church, and basically I’m carrying on from that torch that was given to me then and relaunching it again because I think women need to be at the throne,” Pastor Rhone explained. “My spiritual mission is to bring women to the throne of God.”
The decision to relaunch SWAT at House of Hope Ministries under the leadership of Chief Apostle Dr. Kathleen Miles provides the organization with strong spiritual support and a solid foundation for growth. The partnership between Pastor Rhone and Chief Apostle Miles brings together experienced ministry leaders committed to empowering women in their spiritual walks.
The theme “Shutting Some Doors” carries profound significance for women seeking to move forward in their faith journey. It speaks to the importance of closing chapters that no longer serve God’s purpose while positioning oneself to walk through new doors of opportunity and blessing.
Spiritual Women at the Throne
The name SWAT reflects the organization’s core mission: positioning women as active, powerful participants in spiritual matters. Rather than remaining on the sidelines, these spiritual women are called to take their place at the throne of God through prayer, worship, and intercession.
Pastor Rhone’s conviction that “women need to be at the throne” addresses a vital need in today’s faith community—encouraging women to claim their spiritual authority and develop intimate relationships with God.
Moving Forward
With the successful relaunch event behind them and the support of Chief Apostle Dr. Kathleen Miles and the House of Hope Ministries community, SWAT is positioned to impact the lives of women throughout the Chicago area and beyond.
The ministry aims to equip, encourage, and empower women to develop deeper prayer lives, stronger faith, and greater confidence in their spiritual calling, continuing the legacy that began at Cedar Grove MD Church.
