Sowing back into the community

Pour In, a local nonprofit, held its annual appreciation celebration on February 3rd at Ellis Park, Chicago, Illinois.

The event was organized by Executive Director Olessor Anthony, Sheila Purnell-Williams, and Shimera Thomas-Slater.

The celebration was filled with great music and delicious food for all the participants. The organizers dressed in royal blue and silver dresses, were all set to make a statement.

During the event, Olessor emphasized the importance of sowing back into the community.

She firmly stated that if the work is not completed, who will do it? It is necessary to help ensure that our families and loved ones are attended to. She reminded everyone that we can’t let things lack.

“I thank everyone in this room today because I do not take anything for granted,” said Olessor.

Olessor Anthony expressed gratitude to everyone present, especially Sherronda, LaRena, and Toya for their commitment and dedication to Pour In’s mission.

Despite feeling drained after a long day at work, I left the event feeling rejuvenated, knowing that this organization’s work was making a positive impact in the community.
