Most people who want to get involved are pastors or ministers. Those who are not ordained, should do so through their church since it is required.

The training is a four-week program. After completion, the participant receives a photo identification card, a registration number badge, and a certificate of completion.

How long have you been doing the American Integrity Christian Chaplain’s Authority Program?

We started last year because there was a need for Chaplains, especially to represent the African-American community.

What are some of the benefits of being a Chaplain?

The Chaplain I.D. gives you access to local jails, hospitals, and agencies without being challenged. A business card or paper identifying a pastor or minister has no authority throughout the country.

Being a Chaplain is an extension of the church. It allows you to come outside the four walls and have contact with people whom you would not otherwise meet. You can go into other environments and encourage those who would not cross the threshold of your church.

Through personal contact from devastating situations, such as a house fire or car accident, you will be able to minister and assure them that the Lord is working through you.

Chaplaincy is growing! People thought of Chaplaincy only in hospitals or military. However, Chaplaincy is utilized in professional sports, hospitals, jails, and government agencies.

I am a Chaplain for the Country Club Hills Fire and Police Departments. Chaplaincy is about interfaith, not dominated by any religion. It’s a great extension of your ministry.
