Ladies of Virtue Spreads Love Through Service at Annual Event

Annual “Happy Love Day” provides essential supplies to 700 young women preparing for college, careers, and community service

On Saturday, February 14th, the Ladies of Virtue hosted their annual “Love Day” event at Carter G. Woodson School on 44th and Evans, demonstrating that love is more than a feeling—it’s an action.

As taught by God’s word to love each other on a daily basis, the organization put faith into practice by packing essential supply boxes for approximately 700 girls ages 9-18. These carefully prepared boxes help prepare young women for college, careers, and community service, providing both practical resources and a message of support and encouragement.

Pastor Fannie Smith, staff writer for 3:16 Magazine, was invited by the Ladies of Virtue to volunteer at the event and witnessed firsthand the dedication and organization that makes this annual effort possible.

“It was an honor to join this well-organized, dedicated women of all ages,” Pastor Smith reflected, noting the multigenerational collaboration that made the event successful.

The Ladies of Virtue’s devotion to serving young women in the community represents the kind of grassroots support that helps girls navigate the critical years between childhood and adulthood. By providing essential supplies and demonstrating that their community cares about their future, the organization creates tangible impact that extends far beyond Valentine’s Day.

For 700 young women across Chicago, February 14th meant more than chocolates and cards—it meant receiving resources and encouragement from women who believe in their potential and are willing to put love into action.
