GGM: Elevate, Educate, and Empower Youth

On Saturday, July 12, Pastor Gwen Appleberry and God’s Gift Ministries came together to inspire the youth during their annual Youth Summit at 6549 S. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois.

This event originated from the vision of Pastor Appleberry, the senior pastor at GGM. The initiative aimed to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs, choose a trade, and equip them with the skills to empower themselves.

Tasha M. Jones, the owner of Ariel Salon Suites and Executive Director of the “Beyond the Chair” reality TV series, emphasized the importance of providing children with calmness, peace, and knowledge. She believes that this guidance will benefit them as they grow. As she stated earlier, “What you do today shapes tomorrow.” This is not an exaggeration. It is essential to surround yourself with the right people who have good hearts and positive intentions.

Over fifty young adults participated in the event, which aimed to provide valuable insights into the various businesses and job opportunities available to them shortly. Attendees engaged with industry professionals, attended informative workshops, and gathered essential information to help them navigate their career paths. The event served as a platform for networking and exploring potential career options that align with their interests and aspirations.

Charles McKenzie is the founder and Nikita McKenzie is a co-owner of Inglewood First Responders. He said, “Today was an amazing day. We were able to bring our youth out to hear inspiring words, and I believe that this encouragement can help keep them on the right track.”
