Community Church Celebrates Life-Saving CPR Training with American Heart Association
Local Ministry Honors Heroes While Launching New Health Initiative
New Global Destiny International World Deliverance Ministries Inc. recently hosted a special celebration combining recognition of community health champions with the grand opening of their collaboration with the American Heart Association’s CPR training program.
The event, led by Apostle Dr. Bridget C. Outlaw, honored several individuals who have demonstrated community activism. Among those recognized were Pastor C. E. Watkins, Apostle Dale Evans, Barbara Thompson, Minister Arlene Hood, Desiree Billups, and Connie Billups.
A Mission of Preparedness
The American Heart Association CPR Resource Celebration represents a significant step forward in equipping church members and the broader community with life-saving skills. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training can mean the difference between life and death in cardiac emergencies, with immediate CPR potentially doubling or tripling survival chances for cardiac arrest victims.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to not only spiritual well-being but also the physical health and safety of our community,” Apostle Dr. Outlaw said.
By partnering with the American Heart Association, one of the nation’s leading authorities on cardiovascular health and emergency response, the New Global Destiny is positioning itself as a hub for wellness education.
Expanding the Mission
The event also marked a grand opening in collaboration with the American Heart Association and included special recognition of His Hands Resource Center Inc., suggesting a broader network of community partnerships focused on health and human services.
This type of faith-based health initiative has become increasingly important in communities nationwide, where houses of worship often serve as trusted gathering places for education and support. By training congregation members in CPR and other emergency response techniques, the ministry is creating a network of prepared citizens ready to respond in critical moments.
The celebration exemplifies how religious organizations are expanding their missions beyond traditional spiritual care to address holistic community needs, recognizing that physical health and safety are integral to overall well-being.
