On Saturday, April 4th, Pour In hosted its 4th Annual Resource Fair at Pullman Park, located at 10355 S. Woodlawn in Chicago.
The event successfully brought the community together, creating a positive experience for everyone involved. The community’s support was a critical factor in the event’s success.

The event highlighted the strong turnout from community members, as well as the participation of various partners and vendors. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities for families, including games, dances, live entertainment, and special appearances by the Easter Bunny and “Mr. Dad.”
Joseph Williams, Executive Director of Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club, spoke about the organization’s mission to engage fathers in their children’s lives through mentoring and literacy programs in 18 schools. Williams highlights their involvement in community events and appreciates partnership opportunities. “We are so excited to join Pour In today! Absolutely amazing event. And more than anything, we get the resources, meet new people, and have our Mr. Dad here with us today.”


Sheila Purnell Williams expressed her happiness with the event’s outcome. “Today’s event was a success. It was so happy seeing all the people, the partnerships come out, and the vendors.”
Lorena King introduced herself as the newest member of “Pour In,” mentioning that this was her first resource center event. “This is my first resource center, and it was wonderful. I love seeing the support in the community,” she said.
Olessor Anthony stated, “We had over 75 families participate in our annual Fourth Resource Fair here at Pullman Park.” She expressed pride in the success and scale of the event, adding, “We love to break barriers, speak up, and take action. We believe in it. So now, on to the next one.” This reflects the guiding philosophy of the event as Olessor looks toward the future.
Overall, the atmosphere was filled with happiness and pride due to the community’s support and engagement. The fair was well-attended by families, community members, partners, and vendors.
