On Saturday, May 16th, family, friends, and community members gathered at Oooh Wee It Is Restaurant’s new location at 8548 S. Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone — the 90th birthday of Dr. Mildred Harris, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Signatures of Prolific Women and founder of God First Church & Ministries.
The afternoon was filled with warmth, gratitude, and praise dancing as those in attendance reflected on the many contributions Dr. Harris has made to her community over the course of her extraordinary life. Speaker after speaker rose to honor a woman whose legacy spans ministry, women’s empowerment, and community leadership.
3:16 Magazine publisher Kent Hunley was among those who took a moment to express what the occasion meant to him personally.

“I said to Dr. Harris when I came in — I would not miss this day for the world,” Hunley told the gathering. “She has truly been a blessing to many people.”
A Certificate of Appreciation

In a touching gesture that reflected her character, Dr. Harris took a moment during her own celebration to honor someone else. She presented Oooh Wee It Is restaurant CEO, Mark Walker with a Certificate of Appreciation for his invaluable contributions to making her 90th birthday celebration possible — a gracious act that spoke volumes about the woman at the center of it all.
