Women’s Day at St. John MB Church

On Sunday, March 16th, St. John MB Church, located at 211 E. 115th Street in Chicago, hosted its annual Women’s Day celebration, inspiring over 700 attendees to come together in a powerful display of unity and empowerment.

The guest speaker for the celebration was Elder Lisa T. Ballard, a member of the Sunrise Full Gospel Baptist Church in Chicago. She delivered an impactful message that stressed the importance of women supporting one another.

However, the women she brought with her today, whom Elder Ballard refers to as the W.W.W. or “Women Who Win,” embody strength and resilience. She delved deep into her message and research to uncover the qualities that define a winning woman.

“Please stay with me; don’t tune out yet! For these women, God is both their priority and their authority,” Elder Ballard said.

According to Elder Lisa Ballard, successful women often focus on the positive aspects of life rather than dwelling on the negatives. They embrace their strengths and uplift each other, creating a powerful community.

“Women who win are givers and sustainers of life. They build for protection and are proactive in caring for their children, wanting to understand what’s happening in their lives. Their focus is to find the best in every situation. I have brought these incredible women with me to help illustrate this message, and they represent all seasons of life. They also reminded us that no matter what season you are in, you can win.

Elder Ballard provided, “I want to share this with someone: this is how you can win. I know that you may be facing battles and trying to figure out how things bring you down. But trust that God knows what He is doing. We need to focus on the good. I need us, as sisters, to remind each other that we arefearfully and wonderfully made”. We should lift each other up and say, “You are the best.”

In closing, First Lady E. J. Davis thanked everyone for attending their annual Women’s Day and recognized her sisters. She also presented Eva M. Green, a longtime member, with an award for her outstanding contributions and dedicated service to the St. John Church.

“I am a dedicated servant and take my role seriously. I want to express my gratitude to everyone at St. John Church for allowing me to serve. Pastor Davis expects me to respond to his calls, but I prioritize my health. When I informed the pastor, ‘I’m at the doctor’s office,’ he kindly replied, ‘Okay, please get back to me soon. I love you!'”
