The importance of shining one’s light and not letting anyone dim it

Pour In held an Appreciation Celebration at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center Park District, 10201 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago, IL.

The organization’s focus is on pouring into people, providing resources and workshops, and doing community outreach and service.

The event room was adorned in shimmering silver and bold black, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration. With a performance by a thrilling James Brown impersonator, the atmosphere was electric and the crowd was truly alive.

An abundance of delicious food and delightful desserts filled the tables, creating a feast that inspired joy and togetherness.

Olessor addressed the audience, announcing that Pour In is now officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They wanted everyone present to fully enjoy the event, emphasizing that each person is a part of this achievement.

“Your contributions have made this success possible, so don’t downplay your involvement; every effort counts. You have placed this in the hands of the master, and first and foremost, let’s take a moment to say, “God, thank you.” Your support has been vital to our success. I am truly overwhelmed by the sight of so many familiar faces year after year.”

All of the speakers express overwhelming gratitude and appreciation for the attendees, who they credit with the organization’s success.

“I just want to take a moment to thank God for all of you. I’m so happy to be here with you all. I support the vision that God has given me, and I strive to contribute to it to the best of my ability. I want to express my gratitude to my big sister, Sheila, as well as to everyone who came out today. We really appreciate all of you!”

Olessor Anthony explained, “God has truly revealed something amazing, and together, God has helped us accomplish all things. I’m really excited about this. We are all about pouring into people. That’s why we have our resource fair and workshops—it’s all about giving back.”

“We want to encourage you to relax and enjoy yourselves. Take off your shoes if you’d like! We’re here to celebrate you today. Thank you for being here, and we hope to see you again next year. So, let’s have a great time together! God bless!”

They encourage the attendees to “shine” and not let anyone dim their light, and to “live, laugh and love.”

“Don’t let anyone dim your light. Even if you have to shine alone, shine your light brightly. We need to focus on shining. When I think about that dark place, I remind myself to stop feeling sorry for myself. Instead, I choose to live, laugh, and love. Someone is going to shine, so let it be you! We’re about pouring into our communities, showing love, and doing outreach through community service,” confessed Sheila.

Overall, the event was a huge success; it brought out supporters, families, and friends. Pour In is making a difference, as evidenced by the patrons who attended and left with smiles. Media coverage provided by 3:16 Magazine.com.
