Two Families, One Spirit: Pilgrim Assemblies International

On Sunday, May 31st, The Greenwood Oasis at New Life Covenant Southeast, 7621 S. Greenwood Avenue in Chicago, became holy ground as Pilgrim Assemblies International Midwest Region came together for a night of powerful worship, praise, preaching, and fellowship.

The event drew a large crowd and featured two distinguished guest speakers — Bishop J. Drew Sheard and Bishop Brandon Jacobs — alongside Archbishop William Hudson III, Chief Prelate and Presiding Bishop of Pilgrim Assemblies International, Inc., and Senior Pastor of The Powerhouse, with campuses in Chicago and Posen, Illinois.

Two Families Becoming One

The evening was especially meaningful as Pilgrim Assemblies International and the Church of God in Christ joined together in fellowship — two great streams of faith flowing into one room.

Pastor DeAndre Patterson of Destiny Worship Center, Miracle Revival Cathedral Church of God in Christ, and the Christian Tabernacle Church of Chicago best captured the spirit of the night.

“It was two amazing families coming together. And when I tell you the Holy Ghost met us — Archbishop William Hudson is doing an amazing job. And then to have my Bishop, Bishop J. Drew Sheard, come was just the icing on the cake. I enjoyed it thoroughly.”

Attendees left with full hearts and full testimonies. Janet Sutton described the gathering as nothing short of life-changing.

“This event tonight was so powerful. It was so spirit-filled. It was life-changing. The power of God was in the room tonight — no matter where you came from, no matter what denomination. God was in the room, and He got all the glory.”

Her husband, Author Sutton, reflected on the baptismal experience shared throughout the evening. “It was wonderful. Doesn’t matter what the denomination is. We are here to serve the Lord God.”

The Executive Greeter Joyce Macon added simply, “There’s nothing too hard for God. He’s amazing. He’s magnificent. We give Him the glory, and we give Him honor.”

On May 31st in Chicago, the saints gathered — and God showed up.
